Tensions Rise as Users Attempt Protest at Russian Crypto Exchange Over Withdrawal Delays

Approximately 50 users of the Russian cryptocurrency exchange Beribit attempted to storm its Moscow City offices. Demanding their digital assets, valued at around $4 million (400 million rubles).

Beribit’s management attributed the delay in processing withdrawal requests to an audit initiated following the discovery of discrepancies in the exchange’s balance sheet. Users reported being unable to withdraw funds for several days while the exchange continued to accept new deposits without issue. Beribit’s new management team stated that the audit caused a temporary backlog in processing requests and assured clients that efforts were being made to resolve the situation promptly.

However, despite promises, Beribit initially failed to reimburse users as expected, leading to further discontent among affected users.
