Improvements Deployed on Solana Mainnet to Tackle Network Congestion Issues

Solana developers have swiftly implemented a series of fixes to combat network congestion. Anza, a Solana-focused developer collective, announced the release of v1.17.31, urging validators to upgrade.

Nearly 90% of validators have already adopted this version, which addresses issues with low-stake validators and the QUIC transport protocol. Rex St. John from Anza noted positive results from the patch, although subsequent fixes may be delayed. The forthcoming v1.18 update will introduce a new transaction scheduler, enhancing bulk transaction management, with the option for validators to activate it.

Despite recent devnet downtime, ongoing efforts aim to resolve Solana’s congestion challenges and ensure network stability.
