Grayscale Proposes Quarterly Cash Payouts From Ethereum and Solana Staking Rewards

Grayscale has proposed a new distribution model that would allow investors in its Ethereum (ETH) and Solana (SOL) staking ETFs. To receive quarterly cash payouts generated from staking rewards instead of having those rewards automatically reinvested into the funds.

Under the proposed amendments, the trusts would convert net staking rewards into cash and distribute them to shareholders at least once every quarter, making returns more transparent and providing investors with a regular income stream. The changes are expected to take effect in early August. Pending final regulatory procedures, and follow Grayscale’s broader effort to enhance the appeal of crypto investment products for institutional and traditional investors. If implemented, the move could strengthen demand for staking-based ETFs. By combining blockchain staking yields with the familiarity of periodic cash distributions.
