Paypal’s Blockchain Research Group has partnered with Energy Web and DMG to design a system rewarding miners who adopt green energy. This move aims to steer the industry towards sustainability by making green mining financially appealing. The proposed solution involves rewarding miners in a trust-independent manner when they verifiably use significant low-carbon energy in their operations.
Through a novel crypto-economic model. Green miners are identified and rewarded with bitcoin, promoting cleaner mining practices and directing transactions towards environmentally friendly operations. While this approach is theoretical and untested in real-world conditions. It reflects a growing push for renewable energy adoption in the mining sector.
