Empowering Developing Regions: Karam Lakshman Calls for Decentralized Physical Networks

Karam Lakshman, CEO of Wifi Dabba, advocates for improved connectivity and innovation in countries like India, the world’s fifth-largest economy. 

He proposes Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Networks as a solution to India’s lagging fixed broadband connectivity compared to other major economies. Lakshman highlights the use of blockchain technology or elements of Web3 in these networks, emphasizing their transparency and ability to accommodate multiple users and operators. He believes that such networks can not only connect millions but also accelerate and democratize infrastructure development, particularly in developing nations where traditional infrastructure is still nascent. 

Lakshman sees India as an ideal testing ground for these networks, with potential benefits extending to other developing countries grappling with similar connectivity challenges.
