BMW Brings BAYC NFT to Life With 1/1 “Apecar”
BMW unveiled a unique collaboration between Web3 and automotive design at IAA Mobility in Munich on Sept. 12, 2025. Converting a Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFT into a real-world 1/1 vehicle.
The custom “Apecar” was handed over to collector Dennis Weidner, CEO of Cryptoticker GmbH, who called it a symbol of his entrepreneurial journey and the evolution of digital collectibles.
The project highlights how NFTs are moving beyond the metaverse into luxury and design markets. By transforming Yuga Labs’ digital artwork into a tangible collector’s car, BMW showcased the growing crossover between blockchain culture and traditional craftsmanship, positioning NFTs as aspirational assets with real-world value.
