Worldcoin Unveils Grants Program and Tech Tree for Developers

Worldcoin, the identity-focused crypto project co-founded by OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, has introduced a grants program for developers as part of its commitment to decentralize the network.
The Worldcoin Foundation, a non-profit guiding the network’s development, unveiled a grants program, a “Worldcoin Tech Tree,” and a decentralization whitepaper. Emphasizing the goal of achieving “distributed robustness” akin to protocols like TCP/IP or WiFi, the foundation outlined plans for decentralizing orb production, implementing new forms of distributed governance, and balancing robustness with privacy.
The first grant program, with an initial pool of $5 million in WLD tokens, encourages developers to contribute to community projects, innovative initiatives, and even become a second manufacturer of orbs to scale production. Worldcoin aims to address scalability challenges encountered during its token launch on OP Mainnet, emphasizing the need for continuous development and expansion.
