Venezuelan Minister Suggests Quarter of Trade Can Operate Without US Dollar

Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil highlighted that 25% of global trade could soon occur without using the U.S. dollar, thanks to the push for de-dollarization led by Russia and the BRICS bloc.
This shift, driven by countries like Brazil, Russia, India, China, and others, aims to enhance financial independence. Especially for nations facing sanctions. BRICS is exploring alternatives, including a payment system based on national currencies or even cryptocurrency, under Brazil’s leadership. Although Venezuela was not accepted into BRICS+, the country has benefited from this multi-polar shift in global trade.
