US Lawmakers to Discuss Cryptocurrency Regulations in Upcoming Congressional Hearings
The United States House of Representatives is gearing up to tackle regulatory issues within the crypto industry. According to a press release, the leaders of four Committees within the House are planning a series of hearings to identify and solve regulatory gaps. The hearings will aim to strike a balance between consumer protection and fostering responsible innovation in the digital asset ecosystem. Representatives Patrick McHenry of North Carolina, Glenn Thompson of Pennsylvania, French Hill of Arizona, and Dusty Johnson of South Dakota are involved in the effort. While no official dates have been set yet, complementary subcommittee hearings to identify regulatory gaps related to digital assets are expected this week, with a joint subcommittee hearing scheduled for next month. The hearings are expected to provide much-needed regulatory clarity and certainty, while still adhering to time-tested principles that protect market participants.
