Top 10 Crypto Winners: Meme Coins Lead with 7 Spots in 12-Month Gains
Over the last year, Bitcoin (BTC) surged by over 168% against the U.S. dollar, showcasing its strength compared to other global assets.
Interestingly, seven out of the top ten gainers during this period were meme coins, with TRUMP, WIF, BOME, BONK, MOG, and TURBO leading the pack. TRUMP, a presidential meme token, topped the list with a staggering 122,000% increase, followed closely by Dogwifhat (WIF) at over 58,000%. Other notable gainers included BOME, BONK, MOG, and TURBO, each experiencing significant growth ranging from 4,900% to 17,000%. Conversely, some tokens faced losses, with Wormhole’s W token being the biggest loser at 59%, followed by RPL, APE, DYDX, and CRV.
This past year underscores the market’s fascination with meme coins, which not only capture attention but also drive substantial financial momentum, signaling a notable shift in market dynamics towards humor and novelty.
