The crypto winter has been a good thing, according to Marathon Digital’s CEO Fred Thiel. He thinks it has cleared out some of the shady characters in the industry and forced regulators to pay attention. Thiel also praised the efforts of regulators in various countries, but said the US was lagging behind. Higher interest rates will make investors more cautious and contribute to a more stable crypto industry. Despite some high-profile collapses, Thiel and Blockchain Association CEO Kristin Smith believe that it’s a healthy part of capitalism to clean up bad management and create opportunities for others.
