Telegram Reveals Cooperation with Authorities in Data Sharing
Pavel Durov, Telegram’s founder, clarified that the platform has not made any significant changes to its privacy policies.
Since 2018, Telegram has disclosed IP addresses and phone numbers of criminals when required by law. This policy ensures legal compliance while maintaining the platform’s values of privacy and freedom. Durov emphasized that Telegram’s mission is to protect users from corrupt authorities, but it does not allow criminals to misuse the platform. Telegram also uses a transparency bot to report the number of law enforcement requests processed.
