Solana’s Jupiter Prepares For Massive 1 Billion JUP Token Giveaway
Solana-based decentralized finance (DeFi) aggregator, Jupiter, led by its pseudonymous founder Meow, has officially announced the launch date and time for its highly anticipated token airdrop.
Scheduled for January 31 at 10:00 am EST, the airdrop will distribute one billion freshly minted JUP tokens to nearly a million eligible Solana DeFi users. Jupiter, one of Solana’s largest DeFi projects, determines the bulk of a user’s airdrop allocation based on factors such as their trading volume and platform engagement.
Users can expect to receive at least 200 JUP, with additional rewards for those who held $10 worth of assets or made at least 10 transactions before March 2022. This initial airdrop is part of a broader giveaway roadmap, with three more 1-billion JUP community airdrops and 1 billion tokens allocated for community contributors and grants. Additionally, Jupiter will launch a meme coin as a testing ground for their new platform ahead of the airdrop, although details about its distribution remain undisclosed.
