Solana Founder Claims Ethereum Competitor is Ready for Hundreds of Millions of Users
Anatoly Yakovenko, the creator of Solana (SOL) blockchain, recently expressed his confidence in the network’s capability to handle the world’s blockchain requirements. In a Token Terminal YouTube interview, Yakovenko stated that Solana has the potential to handle hundreds of millions of users. He added that when considering today’s bandwidth infrastructure, where one gigabit is the free tier, and bandwidth is currently inexpensive, Solana already has the ability to manage many users. However, Yakovenko also noted that there is still a lack of applications to attract larger amounts of people to the network. To achieve its full potential, Solana needs more growth drivers. Yakovenko mentioned Helium (HNT), which recently migrated over to Solana, and Hivemapper, a decentralized mapping tool, as two possible growth drivers that could bring more people to the Solana network. Helium has created close to a million IoT (Internet of Things) hot spots, while Hivemapper is trying to map the entire world. As of writing, Solana is trading at $22.06, which is a 3.4% decrease during the last 24 hours.
