Russia’s Central Bank Plans to Facilitate CBDC Interaction with Digital Ruble Platform
Russia’s central bank has announced that the platform for the digital ruble will soon be able to work with other central bank digital currencies (CBDCs). The Bank of Russia has stated that it is currently working on mechanisms for interaction between the digital ruble and other CBDCs, and that various models are being developed. These models include two-way integration with each CBDC platform or launching an international digital platform that will facilitate the interaction between multiple digital currencies. The bank has also revealed that it is open to the experimental use of cryptocurrencies in foreign economic activities, and may even set up a special organization to facilitate cryptocurrency transactions.
