Report: Argentina’s Milei Faces FBI Investigation in Libra Controversy
The FBI is reportedly investigating Argentine President Javier Milei’s involvement in the failed Libra cryptocurrency project.
The probe aims to determine the roles of Milei, Kip Protocol, and Kelsen Ventures in the launch of Libra, which allegedly impacted over 44,000 people. A complaint filed by attorney Mariano Moyano Rodríguez, representing over 2,500 affected individuals, accuses Milei of promoting the project on social media without proper oversight. Concerns also include Kelsen Ventures’ lack of SEC registration and missing compliance measures.
Milei denied responsibility, comparing Libra investments to gambling and stating that investors took their own risks.
