North Korea Slips Behind Bhutan in BTC Reserves After Lazarus Liquidates

Bhutan has increased its Bitcoin reserves to 12,062 BTC after restoring 4,576 BTC to its holdings, pushing the kingdom ahead of North Korea in sovereign BTC rankings.
Meanwhile, North Korea’s Lazarus Group has steadily liquidated its assets, reducing its stash from 13,562 BTC to 7,813 BTC in under two months. This sell-off drops North Korea to fourth place, just above El Salvador’s 6,174 BTC. As the U.S. and U.K. maintain dominant positions with 198,012 and 61,245 BTC respectively,
Pyongyang’s daily BTC outflows hint at a continued retreat—potentially opening the door for smaller nations to rise in the crypto hierarchy.
