New Rules: Taiwan’s Regulator Permits Access to Digital Asset ETFs for Pros
Taiwan’s Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) has permitted professional investors to invest in foreign digital asset exchange-traded funds (ETFs) through sub-brokerage.
This initiative aims to diversify investment options while enhancing local brokerage operations. To mitigate risks, only qualified investors—such as high-net-worth individuals and institutions—can participate. Securities firms must conduct suitability assessments and ensure clients understand the complexities of virtual asset investments.
Non-institutional investors must also sign risk disclosure statements before trading, and regular training on virtual assets will be mandatory for firm personnel.
