New Financial Platform Aims to Enhance National Currency Use Among BRICS Countries
Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov announced initiatives to increase the use of national currencies in trade among BRICS nations, supported by new financial infrastructure such as a BRICS-wide platform and special clearing systems.
These projects aim to simplify transactions and reduce trade costs between member countries. Ushakov highlighted the Russian presidency’s focus on enhancing the financial track within BRICS. Meanwhile, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov addressed Western efforts to disrupt BRICS unity, asserting that such attempts have only strengthened global interest in the bloc.
He emphasized BRICS as an inclusive platform, attracting over 30 countries seeking alternatives to Western-dominated development models.
