New Bitcoin Research Institute at University of Wyoming Aims to Produce Top-Tier Research
The University of Wyoming has launched the UW Bitcoin Research Institute (BRI), a nonprofit dedicated to producing high-quality, peer-reviewed research on bitcoin.
Dr. Bradley Rettler, the institute’s director, criticized existing academic work for its lack of fundamental understanding of bitcoin, citing issues like the failure to account for the difficulty adjustment and block size cap.
He emphasized the need for research from experts who truly grasp bitcoin’s complexities to inform journalism and policy. The BRI aims to address these gaps by providing rigorous, well-informed research on bitcoin from various academic perspectives.
