New Bitcoin Course at Swiss University Faces Backlash Over Steep Fees

The Zurich University of Applied Sciences (HWZ) will launch a 16-day Bitcoin economy training course in March 2025.
The Certificate of Advanced Studies (CAS) program aims to teach students how Bitcoin impacts the financial system and can be integrated into new business models. Rino Borini, the program leader, praised HWZ’s initiative to academically explore this emerging topic. The course, which costs approximately $10,900, includes sessions on Bitcoin as an asset class and offers 15 ECTS credits.
Despite mixed reactions about the high fee, some see value in the official certification and academic credits it provides.
