Meta Plans New Stablecoin, Engages Crypto Companies in Early Talks

Meta is reportedly exploring the launch of a stablecoin to streamline cross-border payments and reduce transaction fees.
According to Fortune, the company has initiated early discussions with crypto infrastructure firms to support stablecoin-based payouts, potentially using Instagram to send small payments to creators worldwide. To lead these efforts, Meta hired Ginger Baker, a former Stellar Development Foundation board member, as VP of Product in January.
The move reflects a broader trend, with major firms like Visa and Fidelity also advancing stablecoin initiatives amid increasing U.S. regulatory attention.
