Massive Crypto Capital Influx: Sophon and Securitize at Forefront as 62 Projects Raise $474M in Record Time
In the past 20 days of May, the blockchain and cryptocurrency space witnessed a significant surge in funding, with a total of $474 million raised by 62 projects.
Sophon, a blockchain project focused on entertainment, led the pack with a $60 million node sale, closely followed by Securitize, which raised $47 million. Among these projects, four Bitcoin ecosystem initiatives raised nearly $20 million collectively, with Botanix Labs securing $8.5 million, Arch Network $7 million, Zest $3.5 million, and Bitsmiley $999,600. Notable projects in alternative blockchain ecosystems included Polymarket with $45 million, Humanity Protocol $30 million, and Arbelos Markets $28 million. Sophon’s node sale involved offering limited ‘node licenses,’ enabling participants to run network nodes and earn from future token emissions.
Securitize, known for its blockchain platform managing digital asset securities, attracted funding from major players like Blackrock and Morgan Stanley. Other projects that garnered substantial funding this month included Owito Finance, UXUY, Re, EYWA, Mitosis, Param Labs, Shogun, Chainml, Chainstack, and Starnest, while several Bitcoin-centric projects also secured smaller amounts.
