Lawsuit Demands DHS Disclose Interview with Bitcoin’s Mysterious Creator, Satoshi

Attorney James Murphy has filed a lawsuit demanding the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) release documents regarding its interview with Bitcoin’s creator, Satoshi Nakamoto.
The legal action follows DHS’s failure to respond to Murphy’s February FOIA request, which was based on a 2019 statement by DHS Special Agent Rana Saoud. Saoud revealed that DHS had interviewed Satoshi and learned that he wasn’t alone in creating Bitcoin. Murphy argues that the public has a right to this information, especially given the increasing governmental interest in Bitcoin.
The lawsuit seeks to compel DHS to disclose any records related to the interview, citing growing public and institutional interest in Bitcoin.
