JPMorgan Forecasts Bitcoin’s 10% Annual Return, Outperforming Stocks and Gold

JPMorgan Asset Management has projected a 10% compound annual return for Bitcoin over the next 10 to 15 years, exceeding its forecasts for traditional asset classes. Grayscale highlighted the prediction as a significant milestone for institutional cryptocurrency recognition.
JPMorgan’s estimates include 9.8% for private equity, 7.5% for U.S. large-cap stocks, and 5.5% for gold. Bitcoin also showed a relatively low 33% correlation with U.S. large-cap equities, suggesting potential portfolio diversification benefits.
Despite its strong return outlook, JPMorgan estimates Bitcoin’s annualized volatility at 55%, reflecting substantial investment risk. The bank has excluded Bitcoin from its main portfolio allocation models due to unstable correlations with other assets. Grayscale views the forecast as evidence of growing institutional acceptance, although Bitcoin’s long-term performance remains dependent on market adoption, regulation, and liquidity conditions.
