Japan’s Commitment to Crypto and Blockchain Gains Support from Ripple CEO

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse met with Japanese lawmaker Taira Masaaki during XRP Community Day to discuss Japan’s potential in blockchain technology. Garlinghouse praised Japan’s clear frameworks and policies that foster innovation while protecting consumers.

Taira emphasized the focus on utilizing blockchain to maximize Japan’s capabilities. Garlinghouse also highlighted the importance of the Asian market, noting that most XRP held on exchanges is in Japan and Korea.

Following the event, Ripple announced a partnership with Yonsei University to advance blockchain research and continued discussions on expanding partnerships with Korean banks.
