Iran is actively seeking membership in the BRICS economic group, as revealed by Mehdi Safari, Iran’s deputy foreign minister for economic diplomacy.

He stated that Iran’s bid to join the bloc has faced no obstacles, and the country has formally requested acceptance from the BRICS members, which include Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. The upcoming BRICS leaders’ summit is expecting participation from Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi. Iran has already established strong relationships with key BRICS members like China, Russia, and India, and is actively working to strengthen economic ties with other BRICS nations.

The BRICS group has drawn interest from over 40 countries seeking to join, and Iran’s president has been pushing for de-dollarization, emphasizing the importance of a fair international system.
