Invesco And Galaxy Trim BTCO Fund Fees To Challenge Industry Leaders
In response to intense competition in the spot bitcoin ETF market, Invesco and Galaxy Asset Management have slashed the long-term fee of their joint BTCO fund, positioning it more competitively against sector heavyweights.
This strategic move, announced on Monday, aims to gain traction in the highly contested spot bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) arena and reflects the ongoing fee war among issuers. The fee reduction lowers BTCO’s expense ratio from 0.39% to 0.25%, with Invesco also waiving fees for the first six months or until the ETF reaches $5 billion in assets under management (AUM).
While Franklin Templeton’s spot bitcoin ETF remains the lowest-cost option, BTCO’s reduced fee enhances its competitiveness against other players. Despite being the most expensive among new offerings, Grayscale’s ETF is facing significant outflows. Since U.S. regulators approved spot bitcoin ETFs earlier this month, there has been a noticeable shift in investor inflows, with industry giants Blackrock Inc. and Fidelity capturing a substantial market share. Despite the competitive landscape, BTCO shares saw a 2.8% increase on Monday, reflecting positive investor sentiment toward the fund’s new pricing strategy.
