In the wake of Bitcoin’s Runes protocol buzz, Blackrock’s exchange-traded fund (ETF) wallets have amassed over $20,000 in RSIC•GENESIS•RUNE tokens. As disclosed by onchain intelligence firm Arkham.
Two of Blackrock’s IBIT bitcoin addresses are confirmed holders of tokens from the Runes protocol. With a current value exceeding $20,000 based on prevailing exchange rates. Arkham’s social media announcement shed light on Blackrock’s unexpected receipt of 1,887,240 RSIC•GENESIS•RUNE tokens via airdrops at the beginning of the week. The RSIC token is currently valued at 16.2 satoshis or $0.01 per coin on Okx’s marketplace. Contributing to RSIC’s overall market capitalization of around $220.14 million.
Arkham’s analysis also uncovered that Blackrock’s wallets inadvertently accumulated four Ordinal inscriptions, known as RSIC. Leading to the tokens being airdropped to the ETF’s addresses. This development coincides with Ark Invest’s ARKB ETF discovery of a ‘Bitcoin Puppet’ NFT and Blackrock’s ownership of a “Speculum Aeternum” Ordinal inscription. Valued at $2,565.75 as of April 25, 2024.
