Indonesia Follows BRICS in Shifting Away from USD
Indonesia is breaking free from the U.S. dollar and following in the footsteps of the BRICS bloc! According to Bank of Indonesia Governor Perry Warjiyo, the country is implementing the local currency trade (LCT) system, which means they’ll be using their own currency for international trade and financial transactions. This is a bold move that the BRICS nations have already started, and they’re even working on creating a new currency.
But Indonesia is taking it to the next level, as they’ve already implemented the LCT system with Thailand, Malaysia, China, and Japan. And there’s no slowing down, because they’re set to sign an agreement with South Korea in May. With the U.S. dollar being weaponized left and right, it’s no surprise that countries are looking for alternatives. As U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen recently admitted, the dollar’s dominance is at risk because of the economic sanctions the U.S. imposes on other countries. Indonesia and the BRICS bloc are paving the way for a new era of financial freedom!
