Indian Web3 Boom: Startups Secure $564M as Developer Ecosystem Grows
Indian Web3 startups raised $564 million in 2024, doubling the previous year’s total but still below the $1.4 billion peak of 2022.
Investment deals surged 43%, with strong backing from accelerators and global Web3 funds. The infrastructure sector saw over 200% growth, driven by AI, middleware, and data tooling projects, while the finance sector rebounded with a 50% rise to $86 million.
Developer activity also soared, with India’s open-source developer community expanding 28% to 4.5 million, positioning the country to surpass the U.S. by 2028.
