Hong Kong Set to Launch Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF Trading on April 30th

Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) has greenlit the launch of spot bitcoin and ethereum exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Scheduled to kick off trading on April 30, 2024.

Hong Kong Prepares for Bitcoin and Ethereum ETF Debut. The SFC recently approved several spot bitcoin (BTC) and ethereum (ETH) ETFs. Including offerings from Bosera Hashkey, China AMC, and Harvest. Representatives from Hashkey and China AMC confirmed the ETFs’ trading commencement date to be April 30. China AMC’s Thomas Zhu expressed optimism about the demand for these regulated cryptocurrency investment vehicles, citing their safety and convenience for both retail and institutional investors. 

These ETFs are seen as integral to fostering a regulated and efficient virtual asset investment framework in Hong Kong, aligning with the region’s ambitions in the Web3 space.”
