Google Faces Staggering 36-Digit Debt as Penalties in Russia Soar
Google now faces an astonishing 36-digit debt to the Russian government, amounting to over two undecillion rubles—approximately $20 quintillion—due to ongoing penalties for not restoring Russian state TV channels on YouTube.
The fines double daily as the company remains noncompliant with a court order under Article 13.41 of the Administrative Offenses Code. Legal experts warn that the total could soon exceed Alphabet’s market value, potentially reaching a size represented by a googol (10^100) within a year.
Despite the mounting pressure, analysts believe Google will not pay this claim, complicating access to its services in Russia as Kremlin officials urge the company to comply with the court’s directive.
