German Authorities Sell $741M Worth of Bitcoin
Ten hours ago, the German government transferred 1,205 BTC from its wallets to various parties. By 4:30 p.m. EDT, their bitcoin holdings had dropped from 38,621 BTC to 26,686 BTC, after divesting an additional 11,935 BTC.
Currently, the government’s bitcoin wallet is valued at approximately $1.5 billion. Throughout the day, deposits totaling about $741 million were made to crypto exchanges Coinbase, Kraken, Bitstamp, and market makers Cumberland and Flow Traders.
During the afternoon, the government’s wallets saw multiple inflows. At 4:30 p.m., bitcoin was trading at $56,363 per coin, reflecting a 1.6% decrease over the last day.
