Forbes Names Top Crypto Exchanges for 2025: CME Group and Coinbase Take the Lead

Forbes’ 2025 crypto exchange rankings highlight a shift toward security and compliance, evaluating over 200 firms.

CME Group secured the top spot with $1.4 trillion in crypto trading volume, while Coinbase ranked second, holding 2.4 million BTC worth $245 billion. Bitstamp placed third, followed by Binance, which re-entered the list after addressing compliance issues.

Robinhood, benefiting from meme coin trading, ranked fifth and plans to acquire Bitstamp. The ranked exchanges hold $1.2 trillion in client assets. Meanwhile, global crypto users have surpassed 500 million, with Asia-Pacific leading at 160 million traders.
