FC Barcelona Teams Up with World of Women for Empowering NFT Collection
FC Barcelona has partnered with NFT project World of Women for the release of the club’s second installment in the “Masterpieces” collection.
The digital artwork, titled “Empowerment,” showcases women’s club captain Alexia Putellas and represents transformation and progress. The NFT auction will take place on June 26 through the OpenSea marketplace. The NFT, minted on the Ethereum scaling network Polygon, offers unique physical utility, including the opportunity to meet Putellas, claim a signed pair of boots, and receive a physical seat from Barcelona’s stadium signed by the player.
The collaboration aims to spotlight female representation in sports and commemorate the achievements of inspiring women like Alexia Putellas. Barcelona’s previous Masterpiece NFT featuring Johan Cruyff was sold for $693,000 at Sotheby’s in July 2022.
