F1 Racing Team Shows Support for Bitcoin with Kraken-Sponsored Car
The Williams Racing team’s Formula 1 car will soon be sporting a unique design, thanks to a recent sponsorship deal with US-based crypto exchange, Kraken. The company’s distinctive logo, which features a sea monster, now includes a passage from Satoshi Nakamoto’s seminal 2008 Bitcoin white paper. Specifically, the logo incorporates the opening abstract and introduction, as well as sections on transactions and timestamp servers from “Bitcoin: A Peer-to-Peer Electronic Cash System.”
Kraken announced its partnership with the Williams Racing team on March 28th, marking an exciting new milestone for crypto companies in the world of Formula 1 racing. This sponsorship deal is particularly significant as many similar agreements between crypto firms and racing teams fell through during the 2022 market crash.
The Williams Racing team is currently in Melbourne, Australia for the next Formula One event, with the main race scheduled for April 2nd. Last year, roughly 420,000 people attended the four-day event in person, making it a highly visible platform for Kraken’s logo and the unique incorporation of Satoshi Nakamoto’s words.
