EY Launches Ethereum-based Platform for Tracking Carbon Emissions
EY, the bigwig professional services firm, has launched an Ethereum-based platform to help businesses track their carbon emissions and credits. The EY OpsChain ESG made the announcement at the company’s Global Blockchain Summit in London. It’s now available in beta version on the EY Blockchain SaaS platform. The system uses carbon emission tokens created by the InterWork Alliance, a Microsoft-backed standards body that EY is a member of.
EY has been a long-standing advocate of the public Ethereum blockchain for tracking carbon emissions and credits. The EY Global Blockchain Leader, Paul Brody, believes the platform will allow enterprises to see the impact of their actions on decarbonization by tracking carbon output.
