Ethereum Whales Own Majority of Supply: 104 Wallets Hold 57.35% – Santiment Analysis
Ethereum’s recent surge to $4,000 has sparked renewed interest, bringing the price closer to its all-time high of $4,872. However, a Santiment analysis reveals a concerning concentration of ETH supply in just 104 whale addresses, which hold 57.35% of the total supply—83.81 million ETH worth around $333 billion.
This represents the highest concentration ever. Meanwhile, wallets holding between 100 and 99,999 ETH now control just 33.46% of the supply, the lowest ratio since Ethereum’s inception. While this centralization raises concerns about decentralization and potential price manipulation, it also signals long-term accumulation by major holders, particularly in decentralized finance and staking.
