Ethereum Foundation Backs DeFi with 45,000 ETH Investment

The Ethereum Foundation (EF) has allocated 45,000 ETH to major DeFi protocols, distributing 20,800 ETH to Aave Core, 10,000 ETH each to Aave Prime and Spark, and 4,200 ETH to Compound.
This move follows internal governance debates and recent transparency reforms, including the adoption of a multi-signature wallet for DeFi participation. While some applaud the investment in Ethereum’s ecosystem, others criticize the choice of established players over emerging projects.
The EF also hinted at future staking initiatives, signaling potential shifts in its long-term strategy.
