El Salvador Highlights Bitcoin Triumphs in Talks With Chinese Ambassador
El Salvador’s Vice President Félix Ulloa highlighted the nation’s Bitcoin success during a meeting with Chinese Ambassador Zhang Yanhui on Dec. 23, focusing on strengthening bilateral ties and advancing digital infrastructure projects.
Ulloa credited Bitcoin for boosting state reserves to over $500 million and discussed key initiatives like modernizing aeronautical infrastructure and optimizing submarine cable networks to position El Salvador as a regional tech hub.
Ambassador Zhang delivered a letter from China’s Vice President, reinforcing diplomatic cooperation. Despite IMF pressure, El Salvador remains committed to its Bitcoin strategy, with reserves surpassing 6,000 BTC, valued at $560 million.
