Dubai: the new hub for crypto innovation as Ripple expands and regulations tighten
Ripple is taking its crypto game to Dubai, despite ongoing drama with the SEC. CEO Brad Garlinghouse shared the news on Twitter, saying it’s no surprise Dubai is becoming a major player in the crypto world. As part of their expansion, Ripple is opening an office in the Dubai International Financial Centre and hosting their annual customer conference there in November. Dubai has been busy regulating the crypto industry, with a new rulebook for digital assets issued earlier this year.
This move is part of Dubai’s ambition to become a fintech leader in the region, and other companies like Binance and FTX have already jumped on board. Coinbase CEO also praised the UAE’s efforts in crypto regulation, calling the country a potential hub for the Middle East, Africa, and Asia.
