Dogecoin Hits $0.20 Mark with 10% Gain, Achieving Milestone Last Seen in 2021
Dogecoin, the dog-themed meme crypto, has surged by 10% in the past day. Crossing the $0.20 mark for the first time since December 2021.
Currently priced at $0.2038, the cryptocurrency’s price jump of 10.8% in a day and 34.6% in a week is notable. Although it’s still far from its all-time high of $0.73 in May of the same year during the crypto bull market peak. This recent increase in Dogecoin’s value follows speculation triggered by Twitter’s AI chatbot Grok. Which hinted at potential Dogecoin payments on the platform, even though no such feature has been officially enabled. Dogecoin developer Mishaboar discussed the possibility of Twitter integrating crypto payments sooner than previously expected, especially considering services like PayPal already supporting cryptocurrencies.
However, despite Elon Musk’s interest in Dogecoin and his vision of turning Twitter into a “super app” with payment capabilities. There’s no confirmation yet on whether Dogecoin or any other cryptocurrency would be integrated into Twitter’s payment features. Musk has hinted at Dogecoin’s potential use for Twitter Blue, the platform’s premium subscription service. And has collaborated with Dogecoin developers in the past. However, reports suggest that Musk initially wanted Twitter’s payment service to focus on fiat currency, leaving the option open for adding crypto functionality later on.
