Digital Dirham Symbol Revealed by UAE Central Bank, Set for 2025 Launch

The Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) has revealed the official symbol for its upcoming Digital Dirham, set to launch in late 2025.
This digital currency, part of the CBUAE’s Financial Infrastructure Transformation program, will be legal tender alongside physical currency. Built on blockchain technology, the Digital Dirham aims to reduce payment costs, enhance data privacy, and support tokenization for greater financial inclusion.
It will be accessible through licensed institutions and offer compatibility with smart contracts for seamless transactions. The launch is part of the UAE’s push to solidify its role as a global leader in digital finance.
