Deutsche Telekom Joins Bitcoin Ecosystem with Lightning Network Node Rollout

At the BTC Prague conference, T-Systems MMS, a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom, revealed its active operation of both a Bitcoin node and a Lightning Network node.

Dirk Röder, T-Systems MMS Web3 lead, shared this development, emphasizing the firm’s support for the Bitcoin network since 2023. Notably, Deutsche Telekom, known as Europe’s largest telecommunications provider and the parent company of T-Mobile, has expanded its blockchain involvement beyond node operation to include plans for bitcoin mining.

This move aligns with the company’s strategy of providing cloud infrastructure for blockchain networks like Ethereum and Polkadot, earning cryptocurrencies as payment and ensuring the security of Web3 applications for the future.
