Coinbase Advances Perpetual Futures Trading For Dogwifhat And Memecoin
Coinbase International Exchange (CIE) and Coinbase Advanced will introduce perpetual futures trading for dogwifhat later this month.
The services for non-U.S. users will launch perpetual futures trading for the Solana-based memecoin on April 25 at 9:30 UTC, as announced by CIE on Thursday. Approximately one week ago, Coinbase’s international platform postponed introducing a Pepe-based perpetual futures offering, originally scheduled for April 18. This move by CIE follows its regulatory approval last year to provide perpetual futures for non-U.S. customers in specific jurisdictions.
Despite challenges in gaining approval for similar products in the U.S., Coinbase obtained clearance from the National Futures Association last year to offer crypto futures trading to a limited number of U.S. retail traders through Coinbase Advanced. The expansion of perpetual futures offerings by Coinbase aligns with the robust growth in the derivatives market, with last month’s trading volumes surging 86.5% to reach $6.18 trillion, as reported by CoinDesk.
