Bitmain and Canaan Face Off as Microbt Sets Efficiency Standard with M60 Series
Microbt, a leading manufacturer of bitcoin (BTC) mining rigs, announced its plans to introduce an innovative mining machine with a remarkable efficiency rating of 1X joules per terahash (J/T).
This follows Canaan’s recent release of the A1466I, which also boasts a similar efficiency rating. Bitmain is also gearing up for the launch of its new S21 Antminer series later this week, expected to align with this efficiency benchmark.
Microbt’s new offering, the M60 series BTC miners, comes as competition heats up in the mining rig market. While Microbt already has the M53S++ capable of 320 terahash per second (TH/s) at around 22 J/T efficiency, the M60 series aims to push the boundaries. Microbt plans to unveil details about the hashrate output of the M60 series on October 24, 2023, at the Blockchain Life 2023 event in Dubai.
In addition to this, Microbt recently announced an autumn sale for earlier-generation mining rigs, which will run until September 28. Meanwhile, Bitmain is set to launch its Antminer S21 line, featuring a miner with a 1X J/T efficiency rating, later this week at the 2023 World Digital Mining Summit (WDMS) on September 22 to 23.
