Bitfufu, a Nasdaq-listed cloud mining company, has acquired a majority stake in an 80 MW Bitcoin mining facility in Ethiopia.
This marks a strategic shift from its asset-light approach to owning and operating mining infrastructure, boosting its total hosting capacity to over 600 MW. The facility, powered by low-cost electricity, will add 4.6 EH/s of mining capacity using Bitmain S21-series miners.
CEO Leo Lu highlighted this acquisition as a key step in expanding Bitfufu’s global presence and creating local job opportunities.
