Bitcoin Surges Above $61K, $23M in Short Positions Liquidated
On Tuesday, Bitcoin surged to $61,600 after briefly dipping below $60,000 over the weekend.
This rise marked a 2.9% gain against the U.S. dollar, bringing its seven-day increase to 6.9%. The cryptocurrency market overall climbed 2.16% to $2.14 trillion, with Bitcoin leading the gains. Ethereum also saw a rise of 1.6%.
In the volatile trading environment, $23.49 million in Bitcoin short positions and $12.52 million in long positions were liquidated, while Ethereum experienced $15.04 million in long and $13.85 million in short positions wiped out. In total, traders lost $108.13 million in 24 hours.
