Bitcoin Boom Lifts El Salvador’s Crypto Treasury to $644 Million

El Salvador’s Bitcoin holdings have surged to over $644 million, rising $137 million in just one month despite IMF restrictions on public-sector crypto purchases.
The country quietly added 30 BTC last month through its Bitcoin Office, which operates outside direct fiscal control. Bitcoin’s recent rally, nearing its all-time high, boosted the value of El Salvador’s stash to around 6,181 BTC, making it the sixth-largest sovereign Bitcoin holder globally.
This move reflects growing global interest, with countries like the U.S. and Bhutan exploring national Bitcoin reserves. President Bukele remains committed to Bitcoin adoption as a strategic asset for the nation’s economic future.
